RAW vs JPEG

JPEG or JPG is the most used file format in photography. Most default setting camera have JPEG as their outcome file format. This file format is nearly universal, make files with this format easily to share.  The disadvantage about this file format is about the file compression. But if you involve less post-exposure tweaking when taking picture then JPEG is fine with you.

RAW files are much larger than JPEG. RAW files provide a more version what the image sensor originally detected when shooting the photo. Which makes us easier to edit the photo. With this file format, you can even create a better quality for HDR picture than using JPEG format.

But, too bad using this file format isn't as flexible as using JPEG. You need a special software installed on your computer first to can open this kind of file format. Well, there are solution with this problem which is convert the RAW format to DNG. But, some camera vandor such as Canon and Nikon still not support this file.

Well, you don't have to chose which file format you want to have if you have a camera that allowed you to take photo using these 2 kind of file format. But, usually there are only DSLR camera which provided that. So, chose the best file format that helped you through your work.

What wiil you chose anyway?
